The cost of the workshop is £85 [£75 for undergraduate students], and includes refreshments and a buffet lunch.

We will have a excellent resource pack on offer at a cost of £15.  The pack consists of an A4 magnetic whiteboard, laminate symbols, markers and pencils will be available.  This is great for quickly showing the children new tunes or letting them compose their own!

Kay has been invited to give a presentation on Cello & Violinbabies to Edinburgh ESTA.  The afternoon is for members and non members - anyone who is interested in teaching young ones to play musical instruments.

2.00 - 3.00 How and why the Cello/Violinbabies method was born, from early ideas to getting into print and on to selling the work to other teachers. This is a valuable opportunity to hear how to create and promote your own ideas and work.

Cumbria & North East ESTA workshop on May 03, 2009

ESTA Cumbria and ESTA North East are combining forces for a joint Cello/Violin babies workshop lead by Kay.  The venue will be the beautiful village of Melmerby, between Penrith and Alston, midway between the North East and the Lakes, not far from Long Meg stone circle & Little Salkeld Mill.

The organisers write:

‘The plan is that ESTA Cumbria shares this day with ESTA North East. String teachers, parents or others who are interested are also welcome to join us - currently we have over 20 people coming and the session will include Kay working with a number of children

The venue will be the beautiful village of Melmerby, close to Alston, midway between the North East and the Lakes, not far from Long Meg stone circle & Little Salkeld Mill.

The village hall has been provisionally booked & the Village Bakery are aware that we will be eating lunch there - we hope they may be able to offer us some reductions! We would need to give them numbers in advance.

The Village Bakery has a cafe & shop selling its own excellent organic products with a small art gallery so as well as being instructive this should be a good day out &  an enjoyable social occasion.

We plan to include an short meeting for ESTA Cumbrian members at some stage in the day to discuss future plans & hopefully encourage new people to join our committee.’
